A Mongrel Mob affiliate with the word "Notorious" tattooed across his face who was on the run from police for 11 days has been recaptured in Hastings.
Shannon Watene fled from a Napier house after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun. He was recaptured by police at a Hastings house yesterday afternoon, following a tip-off from a member of the public.
Officers arrested Watene without incident, Senior Sergeant Stuart Fleming said.
He said Watene would appear in the Hastings District Court today, facing threatening to kill and firearms charges.
Police would oppose bail.
