The owners of more than 2000 Mitsubishi vehicles are being asked to have their brake booster valve replaced after international reports of a "potential issue".
Mitsubishi Motors will this week contact 2235 owners of Lancer, Outlander and Delica D5 vehicles registered in New Zealand in 2008 and 2009.
Mitsubishi spokesman Daniel Cook said the "potential issue" occurred after starting the car when "additional pedal effort may be required to achieve optimal braking performance at very low speeds".
