KEY POINTS:
Family and friends of missing Cromwell woman Jessica Roberts spent a fruitless weekend searching for her and her car.
Nothing has been heard from Ms Roberts, 28, since January 3.
Her mother Sally Roberts said today that her daughter, who has a mental illness, had not taken her medication since the New Year, which meant she would be in a state of "full-blown psychosis" by now.
Her daughter did not have money or a cellphone and would "not be thinking like you and me", she said.
It was not possible for Ms Roberts to make rational decisions for herself.
About 20 family, friends and neighbours spent the weekend searching the local area, but found no sign of her.
They would meet with police later today to get an update on the police search, Mrs Roberts said.
Ms Roberts is described as European, 175cm tall, of medium build with brown curly hair. Her car's registration is a Nissan Cefiro registration UH9394.
She was believed to be wearing dark blue trousers, a lime green singlet-type top with a symbol on the front, either a cream or green cap, red rimmed glasses and a thin, knee length black and white chequered coat.
She was last seen when she pulled up at the Fox Glacier petrol station on January 3 to make a phone call and to buy cigarettes.
But she was turned away because she had lost her Eftpos card and had no money.
She was earlier seen driving erratically near Franz Josef Glacier.
She picked up a hitchhiker near Wanaka about 1pm that day but he got out shortly before Fox Glacier because he was concerned about her driving.
