Police are seeking public help in finding a 69-year-old New Plymouth woman who went missing last night.
They are concerned that the woman, who suffers from dementia, may be disorientated and wandering the streets.
A police spokesman said the woman, identified only as Marie, was last seen at her Dorset Avenue home about 9.30pm.
She was reasonably fit and had dark black hair, and may be wearing a blue top with blue pants, although that could not be confirmed.
Search teams scoured the streets in the vicinity of Dorset Avenue until shortly before 5am, but police want residents to check their properties for the missing woman.
New Plymouth police can be contacted on 06 759 5500 if she is found.
