KEY POINTS:
Missing woman Jessica Roberts was last seen asking at a petrol station where she asked to use the phone but was refused.
Ms Roberts asked to make a phone call at a Fox Glacier petrol station on Saturday night.
But she had lost her Eftpos card, had no money and the request was denied. She hasn't been seen since.
"They wouldn't let her. Isn't that crazy," her father, Rian Roberts, said.
"... they said she was in a fairly distressed state."
Her family was desperate to hear of any sightings of her dark blue Nissan Cefiro car, registration UH9394, saying that would give them a point to search from.
This morning they said they had not heard anything more.
At 6.20pm on Saturday Ms Roberts was seen by motorists driving at 20km/h along State Highway 6 towards Franz Josef, flailing her arms inside her car.
She has not been in contact with relatives since leaving Cromwell on Saturday morning.
A helicopter hired by her family yesterday failed to locate her car.
Ms Roberts suffers some mental health issues.
She is believed to be wearing dark blue trousers, a lime green singlet-type top with a symbol on the front, either a cream or green cap similar to a baseball cap but with a longer peak, red rimmed glasses and a thin, knee length black and white chequered coat.
She is described as European, 175cm tall, of medium build with brown curly hair and may be wearing glasses.
