Missing woman found safe and well

An elderly woman missing in Christchurch overnight has been located by police.

Inspector Alan Weston of Christchurch police said Ellen Moynihan, 84, was found safe and well this morning.

She was reported missing from St Albans Retirement Village in the suburb of St Albans at 8.30pm yesterday.

Police had had concerns for her wellbeing because she required medication.

Mr Weston thanked the public for their help in finding Mrs Moynihan.
