Serious fears were held for the safety of a missing Wellington woman.
Inspector Tom Ireland said yesterday police and family were looking for a 22-year-old female Caucasian who left an inner-city address about 1pm today.
However, she was later found safe and well, the family said.
Due to a medical condition they alerted police who have searched inner city walkways on Mt Victoria without success.
Police were appealing for sightings of the woman described as 5 ft 8, of medium build with shortish red hair in a ponytail. She is wearing brown corduroy trousers, a black long sleeve vest and bright green t-shirt with two white birds on it.
"Genuine fears are held for this woman's safety and any sightings would be of great assistance," Mr Ireland said yesterday.
