Police searching for missing Wellington man Robert Logan have received information to suggest he is the Auckland region.
The 51-year-old lawyer and conservationist was reported missing on Friday, August 27.
Police found his vehicle at the Owhiro Bay carpark later that same day.
The last confirmed sighting of Mr Logan was about 9.30pm the previous night at Woolworths supermarket in suburban Kilbirnie.
Constable Graeme Muir of the Wellington CIB said family members were tidying up Mr Logan's office and came across a note written by Mr Logan before he disappeared, which suggests there is a possibility he travelled to Auckland after his disappearance.
Mr Muir said police have made extensive inquiries and conducted a number of specialist searches since his disappearance more than three months ago and are still considering all options as to where Mr Logan may be.
"We want to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Logan or knows his whereabouts. Mr Logan's elderly mother and her family are desperate to know where he may be and are urging anyone with information to phone Police on 04 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
