A man missing since Friday has been found dead.

Police earlier appealed for sightings of Wellington man Shaun David Hart.

Hart's family reported the 49-year-old missing yesterday.

He was last seen about 11.30am on Friday and is known to have frequented the Johnsonville, Khandallah and Mt Kaukau areas, police said in a statement.

Today they said search and rescue teams had found him in Wellington.

His death is not thought to be suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.
