Missing Waiuku man turns up

A man who abandoned his motorcycle and was seen walking towards a beach south of Auckland last night, sparking a police search, has turned up safe and well.

Reuban Morrison, 35, from Waiuku, 64km south of Auckland, sparked a search by helicopter and police search and rescue teams when he was seen walking towards the beach after abandoning his motorcycle.

However, this morning police said Mr Morrison had returned home.
