Two Wellington women missing in the Tararua Ranges on Sunday night have been found - on a different track from the one they set out on.
A search was started after family reported the friends missing from a day trip on the Kapakapanui loop track.
Anita McGonigle, 39, and Kim Dunne, 36, embarked from the Ngatiawa Rd end of the track about 7am and intended to be back by 6pm.
They were found about 2.30pm yesterday on the Waiotaru track heading towards Otaki Forks.
