A 67-year-old man who went missing in Manawatu bush yesterday has been found safe and well.
The man, an experienced tramper, had been cutting a bush track for use by local children in the Rangiwahia area about 25km northwest of Feilding when he failed to return as planned last night.
A search and rescue team was stood down today when he walked out of the area of his own accord about 8.35am today, police spokeswoman Kim Perks said.
Aside from being mildly hypothermic the man was otherwise unharmed.
Ms Perks said police were unsure of his movements overnight.
