A tramper missing in the Rimutakas north of Wellington since Monday has been found safe and well.
Search and Rescue staff found Timo Aason this afternoon after several days of searching.
The extensive search began on Thursday for the Canadian-born tramper when a farmer noticed his car had not been moved since Monday.
Four search and rescue staff resumed their search in the area this morning and had located him by this afternoon.
Mr Aason had walked the Rimutaka incline through to Upper Hutt where he was staying with a friend, police said.
