A 60-year-old Chinese woman who was reported missing earlier today has been found safe this afternoon at Auckland Airport.
Yaqin Wu was reported missing after she left the Heartland Hotel foyer around 2.55am on April 27.
She entered New Zealand with a tour group on Sunday and was staying at the Heartland Hotel in Airpark Drive in Mangere.
Before leaving this morning, Yaqin Wu made comments to members of the tour group that caused police to hold fears for her mental wellbeing.
A good Samaritan recognised Yaqin Wu in local media reports and Airport Police were contacted.
Police are now assisting Yaqin Wu to ensure she can return home safely to China.
