KEY POINTS:
Police have formally identified the body found in the Mahurangi River as missing teenager Luke Mason.
He was last seen leaving a party near Warkworth on his bike over a week ago.
He planned to stay the night with his mother but did not arrive.
Friends found Mr Mason's bike on a grassy bank next to the Mahurangi River Bridge on State Highway 1 the following morning.
Police spokesman Kevin Loughlin said police suspected Mr Mason drowned.
