Missing Royal Oak man found safe

A man missing from the Auckland suburb of Royal Oak has been found safe and well in Takapuna, police say.

A helicopter and ground searchers had been looking for the 23-year-old, who was last seen in Royal Oak about 10am yesterday.

By first light today there had been no sighting of the man and northern communications centre Inspector Danny Mead said the police helicopter Eagle and ground searchers were likely to join the search.
