Staff from the aviation supply company for whom a New Zealand helicopter pilot works are heading to the province in Indonesia where he is missing.
Shri Krishnan of Auckland was flying a six-seater Squirrel with two passengers on board on a routine food supply trip when the helicopter went missing yesterday morning in Papua.
It is believed the 42-year-old experienced bad weather and attempted to turn back before the control tower lost contact.
He has been working for the Queenstown-based Kershaw Aviation Group for the past year and is described as a very experienced pilot.
CEO Josh Kershaw says members of the senior management team plan to work with authorities.
