A Nelson man who went missing from hospital last month has been found alive in a mountain hut.
Jeremy Flatt, 33, who went missing from Nelson Hospital on August 29, was airlifted from the Hacket tramping hut in the Richmond Range by the Summit Rescue helicopter this afternoon.
He had been without food for several days and was treated at the scene by a St John paramedic before being flown back to Nelson Hospital, a rescue helicopter spokesman said in a statement.
Police said there was serious concern for Mr Flatt's safety after he was reported missing because his bank account and mobile phone were not used in the days that followed.
Two members of the public came forward with information following an appeal for information about his whereabouts.
