A body found in Tauranga harbour this morning has been confirmed as Shaun Hogarth, the man missing for more than a week after the dinghy he was in capsized.
The 23-year-old and three friends were in a stolen boat that overturned near Motuhoa Island on October 16.
The others made it shore and raised the alarm about 8pm.
One of them, 22-year-old Liam Kane, has disappeared, but Dylan Baxter, 25, and Samuel Butler, 22, have been charged with the theft of a boat.
Police, Coastguard and Land Search and Rescue searched for Mr Hogarth until last Friday. Mr Hogarth's family then started a private search.
