An Auckland man who disappeared from his North Shore home in October, probably died of hypothermia, say police.
Eric Jason Shedlock, 41, known as Jason, was last seen on October 9 at his home in the suburb of Forrest Hill and he was thought to have died soon after he went missing.
His body was found on December 23 at Pohutukawa Bay at the northern end of Long Bay on the North Shore.
Police said Mr Shedlock's body was badly decomposed but had no sign of injury and the initial finding was that he probably died of hypothermia.
He worked in the construction industry in a variety of roles, include rigging, scaffolding, and dismantling large factories and warehouses.
