West Coast man Albert Biddington has been found alive by a search party more than 60 hours after he went missing following a car crash.
Constable Peter Jefferies, of Greymouth police, said he received a call about 11.35am today saying Mr Biddington was alive but a stretcher was needed to get him out.
"We haven't got great comms (radio communication) in that area so we don't know what his medical condition is," he said.
The 63-year-old was found in the Aickens area, within a kilometre from where he crashed his car on Monday night.
A team of about 50 search and rescue volunteers including a rescue helicopter spent the past two and a half days looking for him in bush and around his home.
Mr Jefferies said an air ambulance was on its way to treat him.
