A Hamilton man has been found safe and well, living in Northland, after police revealed his family were concerned for his safety.
Howard Withers, 45, was reported missing by his family who had not seen him since December.
He had headed to Northland for Christmas.
On January 20 Mr Withers called his flatmate and arranged to be picked up at a bus depot in Hamilton but he never turned up.
Police this week Mr Withers' bank accounts had not been touched since early January.
But today Hamilton's Sergeant Dave Newland said that as a result of media publicity, police received several phone calls from people in Northland.
He confirmed Mr Withers was living in the area and was safe and well.
Mr Withers has now contacted his family.
