KEY POINTS:
A missing fisherman has been found after spending an unscheduled night out in the bush.
Adrian Brears went missing on the Crooked River in the Moana area after failing to return home last night.
Constable Mike Tinnelly said a search for the 37 year-old using a tracking dog, kayaks, a helicopter and people on the ground set out this morning.
Mr Brears set out to go trout fishing in the Crooked River area, near Greymouth, at about 7am yesterday.
Constable Tinnelly said Mr Brears was due back at 8pm last night but got lost after following an old track and decided to stay put.
He said while the weather and river conditions were good yesterday, today's forecast was for heavy rain.
Mr Brears was found safe and well, late this morning
