An Italian exchange student who was lost in the Wainuiomata bush for almost 24 hours has been found.
Italian student Eric Rigamonti was located early this afternoon, police said.
Mr Rigamonti managed to find his way out of the bush and ended up on Coast Road in Wainuiomata, police said.
He then went to a local house, where he was able to contact his host family and police.
Mr Rigamonti went into the bush with two classmates from Wainuiomata High School at 3pm yesterday, and at around 9pm sent a text to his host family saying they were lost.
