KEY POINTS:
The drum containing dangerous toxic chemicals that fell off a delivery truck on its way to Pahiatua in the Wairarapa has been found north of Taihape.
Fire fighters were dealing with the 200 litre black plastic drum which contains an acid based chemical, Putrol, used to treat timber.
Earlier this morning, Sergeant Mark Oliver said the chemical could be fatal if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through the skin.
He warned anyone who located the drum not to touch it, particularly if it was damaged.
