Police doubt a diver missing on the West Coast is still alive.
The alarm was raised after midday yesterday. The 37-year-old had been diving at Jackson's Bay, south of Haast.
Four helicopters scoured the area and search and rescue teams searched the coastline but found no trace of him. The search has been suspended. Police say it is very unlikely the diver has survived.
