A helicopter, police and local Search and Rescue members are searching for a missing canoeist on Lake Te Anau.
The man, in his early 20's, is believed to be from overseas. He was last seen taking his canoe to the lake at about 10am yesterday and has not been seen since.
The canoe is an old red fiberglass model and it is believed the man had a lifejacket with him.
A helicopter was used yesterday to search the lake but did not locate any sign of him.
