Police believe missing a six-year-old boy is travelling with his grandfather.
Jayden Headley went missing from Hamilton Public Library on Friday evening, and police said they believed he was taken by a relative because of a custody battle between his parents.
Hamilton police said today they had received a phone call on Saturday evening from a man who said he was in Kawakawa with Jayden.
They believed it was his grandfather, Dick Headly, who is described as 68 years old, of medium build with brown hair going grey.
He is possibly driving a silver Holden Commodore with the registration number WM3737.
Jayden is tall for his age with close cropped blond hair, and was wearing a long sleeved red and blue T-shirt and navy blue trousers.
Although there were no immediate fears for his safety, police said they were still keen to locate him, and appealed to Mr Headley to contact them.
