An Auckland woman who disappeared two weeks ago has been found in the Kawerau area, in Bay of Plenty.
Diane Patricia Stevens, 51, left her home in the suburb of Glen Innes to visit her mother in Feilding in Manawatu on May 25, but never arrived.
Sergeant Grant Watson of Henderson police said Ms Stevens voluntarily came forward and police went to visit her at an address in Kawerau.
"She was just taking time out from the family. She is safe and well which is an enormous relief for her family, particularly her partner, who was 'frantic' for any information about her," Mr Watson told NZPA today.
Police were concerned for Ms Stevens safety because she appeared "stressed" before she left Auckland and it was not like her to be out of contact with family members.
