A woman whose disappearance was reported to police six days ago is safe and well.
Police said 36-year-old Susan O'Brien, who lives in the Auckland suburb of Three Kings, had stayed in Waihi on Friday and Saturday night.
But she had still not contacted family and friends who had feared for her safety because of her last communication with them.
Sergeant Megan Dalton, of the Balmoral police, said Ms O'Brien was seen in Waihi but would not reveal by who and where she had stayed.
"She appeared safe and well. There are no suspicious circumstances.
Police still want her to contact them.
Ms O'Brien failed to turn up for work last Wednesday.
Police yesterday said they were following up a sighting of her silver Toyota Rav4, registered number ETC964, which she is believed to have left her home in, in Waihi.
They described her disappearance as out of character.
Ms O'Brien is a slimly built European woman with shoulder-length dark hair and was 155cm tall.
Police said anyone who had seen her or her vehicle in the past few days should call Ms Dalton or Constable Fred McGraw on 027 2439895.
