A missing 10-year-old boy with autism has now been found.
Hutt Valley Police have confirmed Jared, a child missing in the Naenae area, was found soon after they posted on social media asking for public assistance to locate him.
Their original post said Jared was last seen in the Swainson St area around 4pm, and that he was new to the area and not familiar with Naenae.
He was described as 10 years old and with autism. He is wearing a red T-shirt with a picture of a dolphin on it, green shorts and black shoes.
Police thanked the public for their kind thoughts and willingness to share the post to locate him.
