A post-mortem examination is under way on a woman who was found dead in her Wellington home after what police described as a violent attack.
The examination to determine how she died started today and would continue into the evening, a police spokesman said.
The 37-year-old mother-of-two was found by a friend in her Miramar house on Sunday afternoon.
She had suffered a "violent death'', Detective Senior Sergeant John van den Heuvel said.
The woman's name would not be released until her parents in China were told of her death. The name was expected to be released tomorrow.
