KEY POINTS:
Seven elderly people were taken to hospital yesterday after the minivan they were travelling in skidded on a diesel spill and crashed into a bank.
Two of them, aged in their 60s and 80s, were flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious condition to Auckland City Hospital after the crash on State Highway 1 in the Dome Valley, north of Auckland.
Five others - one in a serious condition - were taken by ambulance from Warkworth to the North Shore Hospital.
