National Party minister Hekia Parata spent $1,400 on a "limo" for two days during an official trip to Sydney.
Parata hired a Holden Caprice with a driver from 13Limo - whose motto is Luxury In Motion - while meeting Australian business leaders in April.
Ministerial credit card details show other Government ministers, including self-described "big spender" Tariana Turia, preferred taxis while on official business in Australia.
The spending was revealed in Parata's card statements, released by Internal Affairs.
Parata, the Minister of Women's Affairs, said she had eight back-to-back meetings and it was decided hiring a car would be more cost-effective than a taxi.
