The Spring Creek coal mine on the West Coast remained closed yesterday after a roof collapse.
Solid Energy communications director Vicki Blyth said a portion of the roof collapsed at 1am on Monday.
No one was working in the vicinity and all staff were evacuated safely.
Ms Blyth said the mine would not resume production until it was certain it could do so safely.
It is thought recent heavy rain contributed to the collapse.
