A new training centre for the Mines Rescue Trust is being opened near Greymouth this afternoon.
The Development West Coast Mines Rescue Training Centre at Rapahoe has been developed in the wake of the Pike River Mine tragedy, and a $1 million donation.
It will be used for seminars and theory training, and also has an underground training tunnel for real-life simulations.
The facility is being opened at 4.00PM today.
