A wonky pair of road markings confusing drivers in east Auckland aren't a mistake, authorities say.
A disjointed median line in St Johns will stay that way for another couple of weeks until the recently re-sealed road is ready.
Two pedestrian refuges were removed while St Johns Rd was re-sealed near the intersection with College Rd.
The road had been re-marked but the refuges couldn't be glued back until the oil came to the surface of the road - about two weeks away, Auckland Transport spokesman Mark Hannan said.
A pedestrian refuge is not a pedestrian crossing, but a space in between two lanes where pedestrians can safely wait until it's safe to cross.
