KEY POINTS:
Just weeks after admitting possessing methamphetamine, the daughter of broadcaster Paul Holmes has again been before the courts.
Millie Holmes, 19, pleaded guilty to careless driving when she appeared in Auckland District Court on Friday.
Holmes had lost control of the car she was driving and hit a power pole.
She was fined $450 but escaped disqualification.
Her lawyer, Paul Davison QC, said no one else was involved in the accident, which happened in Auckland in May. "You can see from the fine and the fact that she was not disqualified it was treated as a minor incident," he said.
Millie Holmes was arrested in June following investigations into a series of smash-and-grab raids at upmarket designer stores in Auckland in May, which saw her Grey Lynn apartment searched twice.
Police found methamphetamine, a glass P-pipe, and two pipes made from soft-drink bottles.
Holmes was taken to the police station where the arresting officer searched her and found more P in a bag. She was also carrying a pipe in her underwear.
She pleaded guilty on August 27 to three drugs charges, including possession of methamphetamine and allowing a residence to be used for its use and was remanded on bail for a pre-sentence report and drug and alcohol assessment.
