KEY POINTS:
Millie Elder, stepdaughter of broadcaster Paul Holmes, today pleaded not guilty to breaches of a supervision order placed on her for drug convictions.
Elder, charged with seven counts of breaching the order, made the pleas in Auckland District Court through lawyer Jesse Soondram.
She was remanded on bail for a hearing on December 18.
Mr Soondram told Judge Nicola Mathers that the defence would argue that Elder had reasonable grounds for being excused when she was alleged to have breached the order.
He also made an application for the current sentence to be cancelled.
In March, Elder was sentenced to 12 months' supervision after being convicted of possessing methamphetamine and a pipe, and allowing her flat to be used for consumption of drugs.
Elder is also due to appear in court again on November 21 on another matter.
She and Connor Morris, both 20, are jointly charged with possessing methamphetamine for supply after being arrested this month.
Holmes was in court today to support Elder, the daughter of his former wife, Hine Elder.
However, the pair sat apart in the courtroom and there was little contact between them apart from an initial greeting from the broadcaster.
