KEY POINTS:
Millie Elder, the adopted daughter of Hinemoa Elder and Paul Holmes, has again been granted bail in the Auckland District Court.
Ms Elder, 19, was taken into police custody after police alleged that she had breached her bail on three conditions while she awaits sentencing on drugs charges next month.
The new conditions of bail require her to stay at her mother's address on Waiheke Island with a curfew of between midnight and 7am.
Police allege that Ms Elder was seen at a party by an off-duty police officer drinking and associating with someone she was not supposed to be and drinking alcohol at a party. Both contravene her bail conditions.
The third alleged breach relates to Ms Elder staying at her then boyfreind's house in Auckland.
Police have alleged that her former partner has done a video interview with police in which he said Ms Elder had constantly broken her bail conditions.
No new drugs charges have been laid but police prosecutor Kirsten Lummis told the court that investigations are underway.
Ms Lummis told the court that although the charges do not appear serious at face value, Ms Elder has admitted to once having a $1000 a day drug habit.
"That is the level of the problem she is dealing with. That's why sentencing has been delayed on occasions. You don't solve that kind of problem overnight," Ms Lummis said.
Ms Elder's lawyer Jesse Soondram told nzherald.co.nz outside the court that he doubts further charges would be laid.
Earlier he told the court that Ms Elder was undergoing rehabilitation and all her drug tests to date had come back clean.
"She will be doing two tests a week up until sentencing," Mr Soondram said.
He said none of the offending is alleged to have taken place at night and so the curfew was an unnecessary curtailment on Ms Elder's freedom.
Judge Philippa Cunningham said if there were no new charges laid in the following two weeks, she would lift the curfew.
Ms Elder's mother, Hinemoa Elder, was present in court but made no comment as she left the building. Ms Elder's father Paul Holmes was not present at the hearing.
Last year Ms Elder admitted drugs charges, including possessing methamphetamine, a pipe and allowing premises to be used for drugs.
The charges followed a police raid on her flat in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby.
In December her sentencing was delayed until March to allow her to continue her drug rehabilitation.
