Milford Road closed due to slip

Milford Road on State Highway 94 is closed due to a rock slip and a forecast snow storm later this evening is likely to keep it closed.

"We are now clearing the rock slip at Falls Creek before the snow starts falling," Transit regional networks operations manager Murray Clarke said.

"We have cleared the slip to a temporary one lane to give people in Milford the opportunity to get back to Te Anau."

Due to extreme weather conditions forecast for tonight, it was very likely that the road would remain closed tomorrow as well, Mr Clarke said.
