The first ever Mike Pero Real Estate business in Wairarapa has opened in Greytown.

Business owner Lindsey Ward and Mike Pero himself officially opened the office on Tuesday night, the 41st one to open in New Zealand since he started the company four years ago.

Mrs Ward said she purchased the franchise because Greytown was her home.

She and her husband Chris Ward, the owner of FreshChoice Greytown, have lived there for three years after moving from Christchurch.

Mrs Ward said her business has a point of difference with competitive commission rates and free television advertising for vendors.

She said she also likes to get to know her buyers well.

"I like to sit down with them, have a coffee and try and get to know what it is they are looking for."

Mike Pero Real Estate has been ranked as one of NZ's 50 fastest growing companies by Deloitte, at number 23.
