KEY POINTS:
Comedian Mike King has been readmitted to hospital for further tests but his manager has denied his health has suffered a setback.
King, 45, was admitted to hospital on Monday with low blood pressure and dizziness, where it was discovered he had an irregular heart beat.
King's manager David Steele told NZPA today the comedian had been readmitted to hospital for further tests which had already been scheduled.
"He was always going back into hospital, they didn't have many beds when he was first admitted, he was a low priority, so he checked out with the intention of going back."
Mr Steele said King would undergo tests over the next few days, including the trialling of drugs in an effort to regulate his heartbeat.
"There is an irregularity in his heart but they are trying to get it back into a regular one."
Mr Steele said King was "certainly not 100 [per cent]" but was in good spirits considering.
"A guy like Mike doesn't like lying around in that situation.
"But he tells me it's a great place to write new material.
