Firefighters from Masterton and Carterton helped ambulance officers at the scene of a midnight road crash near Gladstone on Friday.
Fire communications supervisor David Miekle said fire crews attended the crash scene, on Te Wharau Rd at Kourarau Hill, about two minutes to midnight.
He said there had been no entrapment of crash victims and firefighters had assisted the ambulance crew at the scene.
Firefighters were called to another rural scene in the Carterton district to douse a bonfire at a property on Hughes Line, at East Taratahi, on Saturday night.
Mr Meikle said a fire crew was called to the property about 9.15pm on Saturday and extinguished the blaze soon after arrival.
