KEY POINTS:
The Metservice says five to 10 centimetres of snow is likely to fall near the Milford Rd tunnel overnight.
A dusting is also expected down to 400 metres in southern Fiordland, Southland and South Otago.
Weather ambassador Bob McDavitt says snow is possible down to sea level in Dunedin and North Otago tomorrow.
Jack Frost is expected to make his way over Canterbury during Friday afternoon.
