Anti-supercity group Carterton Voice has erected a chalkboard for passersby to post questions about the draft proposal.
Headed with the words "Wairarapa is not a Wellington suburb" the board asks residents to write their questions on the supercity and visit the Carterton Voice website to find answers.
The board has been set up on High St North, outside the entrance to Tarragon Cafe.
Cafe owner Kevin Shipp said he is concerned adopting the proposal would mean a loss of representation for Carterton.
He was unsure if those in Wellington could understand the needs a rural community like Carterton, he said.
