KEY POINTS:
The largest convoy of Mercedes-Benz cars drove into the Guinness Book of World Records when 153 C-Class sedans hit the roads of Dubai last month.
"Usually, a new car would be revealed in a showroom," said Julian Redman, marketing manager of Gargash Enterprises, the official Mercedes-Benz distributor in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates of the United Arab Emirates.
"You would pull off a cover, the guests would clap and that would be it. However, we wanted to give something back to our C-class customers so we invited them to help us participate in a convoy to set a world record."
The two-kilometre-long convoy set off from Madinat Jumeirah and drove to the Endurance Village at Bab Al Shams.
To set the record for the largest convoy of a single make, more than 100 cars had to take part.
