Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has just announced the price and model range of its super luxury S-Class sedan, days before it goes on sale here.
Available in four models, the cars start from $197,500 to $330,000 and will be available from December 1.
Aimed at the BMW 7 Series, Porsche's Panamera and the Audi S8, the all-new S-Class replaces the seven year old previous model and has such new features as a 31.2cm coloured screen in the front dash, 360 degree camera and that 13 speaker Burmester surround sound system as standard equipment.
The entry model is the E350 BlueTec with a 3-litre, V6 direct injection diesel engine (190kW/620Nm) paired with the seven-speed Tronic Plus auto transmission for $197,500.
Next is the S500 with a 4.7-litre V8 bi-turbo petrol engine (335kW/700Nm) priced at $240,000 while the long wheel based, limo style S500 has the same engine but is 130mm longer - mainly in the rear passenger area - and with a $15,000 increase.
