A female shop worker was confronted by two men with machetes during a robbery in Hastings last night.
Police constable Martin James said the woman was working at New Crystal Takeaways at 7.30pm when two men armed with machetes appeared.
One stood in the doorway while the other entered the shop and demanded money from the worker, Mr James said.
The robbers, described as 165cm to 175cm tall, of medium build and dressed in black clothing with their heads and faces covered, left with a "small amount of cash".
Police have appealed for members of the public to come forward with any information.
