Two men whose actions led to the death of their friend on Lake Ohakuri have been convicted and fined $3000 each.
Tony Wayne Sargison, 44, of Rotorua, and James Trevor Worsnop, 35, of Taupo, had earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a boat in a dangerous manner, which led to the death of Andrew David Wroe on January 2.
Mr Wroe was on a sea biscuit being towed by Sargison when he collided with a boat driven by Worsnop, his best friend.
The men were sentenced in Rotorua District Court today.
